"Esortare: cercare di convincere qualcuno a dire o fare qualcosa." Dal dizionario della lingua italiana Garzanti. Quindi le "esortazioni" sono parole che esortano, che invitano. Questo il titolo della mostra di Moreno Fortunato. Una serie di quadri che sollecitano il pensiero di chi guarda. Ingenuamente egli si serve di alcuni segnali stradali, d’obbligo o di pericolo, o che segnalano attenzione, ma al di là di questo realismo pop resta l’operato pittorico molto fine, cioè eseguito coscienziosamente con matita sul fondo biaccato del compensato ed eseguito in maniera realistica. Il che dimostra una sua grande capacità tecnica. Moreno Fortunato si era già segnalato nella mostra "Uno X Uno" organizzata in occasione della Biennale di Achille Bonito Oliva, e da lui voluta, nel ’93. Dopodiché una sua crisi spirituale ce lo fa perdere dentro teorie mistiche ora abbandonate per questo suo verseggiare per quadri. "Non so perché, ma sono un pittore che deve sempre dire qualcosa!" e questo suo dire alto è un dire civile con molti rimpianti.
I suoi soggetti sono strade di città, paesaggi urbani, tangenziali, autostrade percorse da camion, da auto. Tutte vedute deserte. L’uomo è assente. Egli appare solo sotto forma di sagoma a cui è interdetta la strada o a cui è segnalato il percorso obbligatorio da fare! Il tutto sotto il segno scabro e duro della matita sulla biacca che segna come un aratro la nostalgia per un mondo migliore. Alcune biciclette ne segnano un desiderio sublimato, così come alcuni fiori gialli stilizzati segnalano un impercettibile resistere della natura con api che abbordano i lati di queste opere.
Gustav Jung nella sua monografia sosteneva che in un periodo anch’ egli assunse un parlare aulico quale tono di una sua figura interiore. Qui Moreno Fortunato è ritornato con un discorso civile alto. Sa di non essere profeta, o il Profeta, ecco perché ci esorta solamente. Ci esorta a cambiare. E come si sa i consigli sono sempre gratuiti i quadri no, essi grondano di rosso pericolo, e sono fatiche destinate a durare dopo di noi quando sono serie come in questo caso.

From the Garzanti dictionary of Italian language: "To exhort: trying to convince someone to do or say something." Therefore "exhortations" are words that exhort and urge.
This is the title of the exhibition by Moreno Fortunato. Paintings that solicit the thought of the viewer.
He ingenuosly uses some road signs, of warning or obligation or attention, but beyond this pop realism there is a very fine painting technique, using conscientiously the pencil on the cerused board in a realistic way. This shows his great technical ability.
Moreno Fortunato already distinguished himself in the exhibition "Uno X Uno" wanted by Achille Bonito Oliva during the Biennale that he directed in 1993. Thereafter the artist went through a spiritual crisis and mystic theories now abandoned for this new versify into paintings.
"I don’t know why, but I am a painter that must always say something!" and this "high" saying is a civilized one with many regrets. His subjects are city streets, urban views, by-passes, highways with trucks and cars. Deserted views. Man is absent. He appears only as a shape that has to follow a one-way or to which the road is prohibited!
All this with the rough and harsh sign of the pencil on the ceruse that marks as a plough the longing for a better world. Some bicycles expresses a sublimate wish as well as stylised yellow flowers signal a subtle resistance of nature with bees approaching the sides of these works.
In his biography, Gustav Jung asserted that in a certain period, he himself adopted a stately language as the expression of an inner self.
Here Moreno Fortunato is back with highly civilized subjects. He knows that he is not a prophet or the Prophet, that’s why he only exhorts us. He exhorts us to change.
And, as we know that advices are always for free and the paintings not, they drip of red danger and are efforts destined to overlast us when they are as serious as these.
